Ballyea
is located on the western side of the parish of Clarecastle,about
3 miles from Ennis and approximately half way between the Kilrush
and Kiladysart roads.
Ballyea Hurling Club as it is currently constituted was founded
in April 1935. The
club caters for hurlers of all ages from U-8's to the adult senior
team.
It is only six years since the club won the Junior A championship
and four years
since senior status was achieved for the first time ever.
Ballyea's playing pitch is adjacent to the local national school
and community centre
